Ash & Ampz - engagement photography session in Napier
Love is often talked about as a triumph over adversity and right from the start that has been so true for Ash and Ampz, who have travelled an amazing journey together to get to the point where they were set to celebrate their marriage together last May.
Then Covid 19 happened and instead of celebrating with 130 friends and family at a beautiful Hawke’s Bay wedding at The Mission Estate Winery, all plans were off with no real idea when their wedding could go ahead. Four months later, their moment is finally arriving. Tomorrow they will become husband and wife, even though it has meant the difficult decision to do so without Ash’s family, who remain in India, and with a fair amount of dé ja vu created recently with the return of Covid and the threat of another postponement. These two really do show that marriage is for better or worse, in good times and bad!
There are so many reasons for me that tomorrow is going to be the most unbelievably exciting day. Never in a 15-year career as a Hawke’s Bay photographer have I gone five long months without shooting a wedding. I am like a junkie who is finally getting a hit. Having spent time with Ash and Ampz at their engagement photography session near my photography studio in Bay View, I also know what a beautiful couple they are inside and out, and what inspiring values they share. Most of all, I know these two have overcome so much to be together and to get married and so being a big part of their Happy Ever After reminds me why I’m so lucky to be a Hawke’s Bay photographer. The forecast is for the sort of warm, sunny spring day Hawke’s Bay wedding days are made for. Bring it on!
