ALEX AT LARGE - WAIPATIKI BEACH, HAWKE'S BAY

Alex and I last caught up a year ago when he was four and I promised treasure if he joined me in a pirate hunt among the autumn leaves of Havelock North. I'm not sure he's forgiven me yet for not delivering, however he showed up with his game face on when we met a year later for some soccer at Waipatiki beach in winter.

Alex is an only child and that makes the usual bond between parent and child even stronger. It also means Mum and Dad are his best friends and he's the glue that turned a couple in love into a family. It was that feeling of connection and family strength I was motivated to capture and I went away from our session feeling really uplifted by the bond Alex and his parents have.
